BIKING
Ride to the Tibet Border
Ride from resort to the Tibet Border through beautiful landscapes and charming villages. Set foot on the Friendship Bridge, the white line in the middle is the actual border between Nepal and Tibet! You can picnic on the way with a packed lunch or eat at one of the local restaurants in the Nepali border town Kodari. TREKKING IN NEPAL
Gokyo- Chola Pass Trekking
The trek to Gokyo provides an excellent opportunity to see an eyeful view of the Mt. Everest at close range. This trek is to be considered as an alternative trek to the traditional Everest Base Camp trek that offers magnificent view of the mountain peaks and the Ngozumpa Glacier- the largest in the Nepal Himalayas.

The image of this region is associated with the soaring view of the most popular mountains view of Nepal like Mt. Cho-Oyo (8153m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Lhotse (8501m), Makalu (8463m) etc. which are clearly visible from Gokyo Ri (5483m.) above Gokyo Lake. One of the most remarkable features of the trek is the view of tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung (2922m) located in Khumbu region.

Mount Amadablam Expedition
Annapurna First Mountain is lowest 8000m peak in World and which is situated in Nepal . Annapurna 8091m was first climbed by a French expedition 1950. There are four summits called Annapurna ; the entire massif forms a barrier on the northern side of the Pokhara valley. The main summit is to the west of Annapurna sanctuary.

A French Expedition led by Maurice Her zong explored the Kali Gandaki valley in 1950. After descending Dhaulagiri was too difficult, the turned their attention to combing Annapurna. Hampered by inaccurate maps, they spend considerable time and effort finding a way to the food of the mountain. They eventually ascended via Miristi Khola to the north face of mount Annapurna first and made what was the first ascent of any 8000m. Peak on June 1950, just before the start of the Monsoon. The Summiteers suffered frostbite on descends wand were finally evacuated back to the road head in India.

Annapurna was not climbed again until 1970, when British army expedition followed essentially the same route as Herzog. At same time Cris Boning led successful British expedition to the very steep and difficult south face. With only 109 ascents, Annapurna has had fewer successful climbs than any other 8000m peak.

UPPER DOLPO
The Upper Dolpo region is another remote hidden destination in far west where Nepal's most tranquil and natural beauty is still unexplored. Dolpo is protected by Shey-Phoksundo National Park. It lies to the north of the Dhaulagiri Range bordering the Tibetan Plateau. Here one can find a well-preserved eco-system of plants and wildlife, including the blue sheep and the elusive snow leopard. The view of Kanjiroba peak, Phoksumdo Lake, and the Dhauligiri massif is one of the most rewarding moments of this trek. A visit to the Phoksumdo Gompa – dedicated to the ancient Bonpo religion, local to Dolpo and Tibet, is a memorable experience. The enchanting beauty and unique culture of this place will demonstrate why Eric Valli, the author of the famous book Honey Hunter of Nepal, created the movie "Caravan", nominated for the prestigious Oscar award. Dolpo is still the homeland of the Spotted Leopard, Blue Sheep, wolves, and many other varieties of flora and fauna, so you'll also uncover a deeper understanding of Peter Matthieson's book Snow Leopard. A well-organized camping trek is required and trekking in a group is recommended. This trek is most suitable for those who are exceptionally fit and prepared to face the full challenge of the Himalayan wilderness.

DHORPATAN HUNTING RESERVE -Established 1983 and gazetted in 1987 ( Area 1325 sq. kms)

Facts


Introduction
Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve adjoins Rukum, Myagdi and Baglung districts in the Dhaulagiri Himal range in West Nepal. Putha, Churen and Gurja Himal extend over the northern boundary of the reserve. Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve was established in 1983 and was gazetted in 1987. Management objectives of the reserve allow sports hunting and preserve a representative high altitude, ecosystem in Western Nepal. The reserve extends over an area of 1325 km2 and is the only hunting reserve in the country to meet the needs of hunting for Nepalese and foreign hunters of blue sheep and other game animals . Local people depend on the reserve to meet their requirements of timber, fuel-wood, fodder, and pasture.

The Tibetan refugee camp near the reserve headquarters has put more human pressure in the forest. Every year livestock grazing activities begin from February and last until October. More than 80,000 livestock enter the reserve for grazing. The majority of people belong to the Mongoloid race, including Mugar, Thakali and Gurung, Amalgamation of different ethnic groups has resulted in a mixed pattern of cultures.

Features

The higher elevations remain snow-capped throughout the year. Altitudes vary from 3000 m to more than 7000 m. The flat meadows above tree line (4000 m), locally known as Patans, are important for animals like the blue sheep and other herbivores. The reserve is divided into seven six blocks for hunting management purposes.The reserve is surrounded by villages on all sides except the north.
